Consumer Counseling and Mediation Program provides information regarding State and Federal consumer protection laws.  In addition, free voluntary phone based mediation services are offered to consumers who have submitted complaints concerning problems they may have encountered with businesses

Small Claims Mediation The District Court provides you with the opportunity to resolve your case in days rather than waiting 2 weeks for your court date! This special notice is to introduce you to the Small Claims Mediation Services offered by the Berkshire County Regional Housing Authority’s Housing Services and Mediation Program.

Mediations are arranged and conducted by telephone, when appropriate. The objective of Mediation is to resolve your case without the cost and frustrations of a prolonged court case. During the mediation both you and the other party will have the chance to explain fully your views and concerns.

A trained, experienced mediator will facilitate the mediation with the goal of reaching a mutually satisfactory agreement to resolve the problem. Amazingly, 9 out of 10 cases are resolved after mediation.
